East Kootenay Energy Diet

About the Energy Diet

Energy Smart, Penny Wise: The East Kootenay Energy Diet is here to help you achieve savings!

All about the Diet:

The East Kootenay Energy Diet is all about getting homeowners access to low-cost energy assessments, incentives, rebates and financing on home retrofits, and the support and coaching necessary to make the best decisions for your home’s energy efficiency and energy cost savings.

It’s an initiative that puts emphasis on using local trades, businesses and services. Inspired by the Rossland Energy Diet and Kootenay Energy Diet (Fortis initiatives in their electric territory), the East Kootenay Energy Diet wants to help residents of the East Kootenay trim their energy waste.

The East Kootenay Energy Diet is an initiative of the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Community Energy Manager position. It is the result of collaboration between the Regional District of East Kootenay, BC Hydro and Columbia Basin Trust, with additional funding and partnership with FortisBC. The non-profit organization, Community Energy Association, delivers the program on behalf of these partners.

We will help you:

  • Get a reduced-cost home energy evaluation
  • Access rebates & incentives
  • Choose the best retrofit options for your home
  • Find qualified local contractors
